Appointment and Responsibilities

The ECDA Fellow shall commit an average 100 hours of service per year to the programme during his/her period of appointment, serving in sector-level roles and carrying out sector-level responsibilities as approved by ECDA.

The sector-level roles and responsibilities would be in 3 key areas:

  1. Professional Development e.g. Leading/facilitating master classes/workshops at the sector level, developing resources, mentoring/coaching centre leaders and senior teachers from other centres;
  2. Curriculum Leadership e.g. Guiding centres in the design, implementation and review of centres’ curricula or teaching and learning approaches;
  3. Sector Partnerships e.g. Partnering ECDA in spear-heading improvements for the sector.
ECDA will work with you on the sector-level roles you will play during the appointment term. As far as possible, ECDA will match these roles to your interests and expertise.
ECDA will work closely with the ECDA Fellows to complete an average of 100 hours of service per year, which adds up to a total of 300 hours of service over 3 years. The 100 hours take into consideration the time needed for preparation and service required in each role approved or recommended by ECDA. There will also be two check-points a year to keep track of your service hours.
Should you fail to complete the stipulated service hours at the end of your appointment, ECDA will prorate the Service Recognition Allowance (SRA) in your final year of appointment.
Re-appointment will be extended to the ECDA Fellows who have contributed significantly in their first term of appointment. ECDA will get in touch with you closer to the end of your three-year term to confirm your interest for reappointment for another term. Please note that the decision for reappointment shall be determined by ECDA in its sole discretion.
