Subsidy application for new preschool enrolment

Subsidy application for new preschool enrolment

Note: If you are transferring from another preschool, please note that it will be considered a new enrolment. ECDA will reassess your household income to determine your eligible subsidies.

Overview

ECDA has introduced a new Preschool Subsidy Application process via LifeSG to enhance service delivery for parents.

ECDA has also enhanced the means-testing process, such that all preschool subsidy and financial assistance applications will be means-tested through the Household Means Eligibility System (HOMES), instead of through ECDA’s means-testing system. HOMES is a national system that consolidates means-testing for various public assistance schemes to determine the appropriate level of support for families more efficiently and accurately

For more information about HOMES, please visit Ministry of Health (MOH) e-Services or HOMES.

How to enrol and apply for subsidies

1. Enrolment into the preschool

  • Confirm a place in the preschool

You can apply for preschool subsidy only after confirming a place for your child. The preschool will facilitate the enrolment of your child as per the preschool’s practice. This may include the completion of the preschool’s enrolment form and collection of deposit fees.

  • Apply for Singpass

All Singapore Citizens (SC), Permanent Residents (PR) and Foreign Identification Number (FIN) holders must use Singpass to access the application form. Only foreigners who do not qualify for Singpass are allowed to use their passport number to access the form.

  • Check that your Myinfo data is updated

You can check your Myinfo data through the Singpass app. Update the relevant agencies, if required.

2. On Day of Enrolment

  • Receive form link via email

On or after your child's first day of enrolment in the preschool, the preschool will trigger the subsidy application form in LifeSG for parents to apply for subsidies with ECDA. If you did not receive the email within the first week of your child’s enrolment, please contact the preschool.

You and your spouse must complete the form within 14 calendar days.

3. After completing form

  • Receive acknowledgement and outcome

After you and your spouse have completed the form, LifeSG will acknowledge your application via email. Use the status tracker in the LifeSG app to check the progress of your application.

LifeSG will inform you of the outcome of your application via email, within 1 to 4 weeks. Contact your preschool if you did not receive any notifications or have queries regarding your application.
