Advisory to Preschools: Travel Declaration in Response to Novel Coronavirus Situation

24 Jan 2020

Dear Operators / Principals

Travel Declaration in Response to Novel Coronavirus Situation

As part of precautionary measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of children and staff in preschools, the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) requests preschools to obtain travel declarations for all children and staff in your centre.

2   We seek preschools’ support to provide the following information on enrolled children and staff who travel out of Singapore anytime during the period of 24 January to 31 January 2020. Please send this to your ECDA Licensing Officer by 5 February 2020.

3   We would also like to inform you that the Ministry of Health has widened its travel advisory: we should now avoid travel to the whole of Hubei Province (which includes the city of Wuhan), in view of the additional travel restrictions that China has now imposed on Huanggang and Ezhou cities. ECDA strongly advises preschool staff to avoid travelling to Hubei Province during this period.

4   The health of staff and children who have returned from China should be monitored closely for 2 weeks upon their return to Singapore, and seek immediate medical attention if they feel unwell.

5   We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide updates. An Advisory to Parents on the precautionary measures taken by preschools to safeguard children’s health and wellbeing is available on ECDA’s website and appended below for your reference. We seek your assistance to disseminate the Advisory to Parents via your communication platforms.

6   If you require any assistance or clarifications, please contact your ECDA Licensing Officer.

Thank you.
