Scholarships & Training Awards Presentation Ceremony 2020

The ECDA Scholarships and Training Awards Presentation Ceremony is held annually to recognise outstanding in-service and aspiring early childhood educators who have taken up the ECDA Scholarships and Training Awards (TA) to fulfil their career aspirations. This year, we celebrated the event virtually on 28 Oct 2020 and had a meaningful time with our recipients and their enthusiastic supporters.
Minister for Social and Family Development, Masagos Zulkifli highlighted in his Welcome Remarks that the Government remains committed to support early childhood educators at every stage of their careers, while enhancing the quality, accessibility, and affordability of preschools to give every child a good start. He also applauded the resilience, resourcefulness and adaptability shown by educators as they responded positively to the changes in their working and learning environments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Referring to the educators as the children’s role-models, he encouraged the recipients to continue to innovate and find creative ways to enrich our children’s learning experiences.
During the Ceremony, 13 TA recipients received the ECDA TA Commendation Award for their exemplary performance during their studies; and 9 outstanding in-service early childhood educators received the ECDA Scholarship to support their aspirations as they pursue the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education.
