World Water Day is a day designated by the United Nations to celebrate the importance of water sustainability. Here in Singapore, we too commemorate this special occasion by encouraging the community to participate or organise activities throughout March to reinforce the importance of adopting the 5 water saving habits:
- Take shorter showers
- Use a reduced flush
- Use a mug to brush teeth
- Use water-efficient washing machine
- Wash in a filled sink
Everyone is welcomed to celebrate Singapore World Water Day in their own way. Together, let’s make every drop of water count.
Be inspired by some activities led by our water champions below!
Children experienced a day of “water shortage” to understand the importance of water conservation and appreciate our readily available water supply.
One of the major pre-school operators organised a water-themed carnival where parents and preschoolers can have fun in various activities such as one at this station where they removed “rubbish” from the water which reinforce the importance of keeping our water spaces clean!
Preschool teachers can also read stories on water conservation to the children to remind them on adopting the water saving habits.
