ECDA Scholarships and Training Awards Presentation Ceremony 2022

​​The ceremony kickstarted with a fun and interactive icebreaker, successfully engaging over 500 invited guests and recipients. Minister Masagos acknowledged the pivotal roles that EC educators play, and applauded their resilience and effort in making a significant impact on the local EC sector by embracing diverse changes in their pedagogical practices brought on by the pandemic. Their adaptability, resourcefulness and tenacity were shown through the innovative lesson plans they crafted to engage their young charges during this period. Minister Masagos also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting EC educators’ professional growth and career aspirations at every stage of their career. Since 2015, ECDA has endowed more than 180 Scholarships and 2,700 Training Awards totalling $86 million to support the career aspirations of EC educators and uplift the professional quality of the sector. ​

Let us meet our 12 Scholarship recipients as they share their aspirations:

	Ang Jie Ying  Pursuing Master of Early Childhood Education (Part-time) at SUSS  Preschool Quality Officer at Babilou Family Singapore Pte Ltd “I strongly believe that there is no “one size fits all” in engaging teachers, like how children learn. It is important that we also cater to teachers’ learning needs and tap on their strengths to enrich the learning environment.”
	Chandar Prabah Rai  Pursuing Master of Early Childhood Education (Part-time) at SUSS Senior Teacher at E-Bridge Preschool Pte Ltd @ Yishun “I aspire to continuously learn new skills and knowledge to uplift myself as an educator and create meaningful connections with my fellow practitioners.”
	Ding Tian  Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood and Chinese Language Education (Part-time) at SUSS Senior Teacher at E-Bridge Pre-school @ Montreal Link “This scholarship is an affirmation of my efforts and aptitudes in being an early childhood educator. I will strive to continuously equip myself with knowledge and diverse teaching approaches to enhance children’s learning.”
	Jenica Alisa Ong  Pursuing Master of Early Childhood Education (Part-time) at SUSS Centre Director at Seeds D’ Learning House “Being emboldened in my roles as a leader and mentor, I hope to motivate teachers to remain passionate early childhood educators and help them understand the significance of their roles in shaping young minds.”
	Nabilah Binte Mohamed Zin  Pursuing Master of Education (Early Childhood) (Part-time) at NIE Principal at Superland Preschool “I aim to support the professional growth of my fellow educators by forging a culture of continual learning and promoting reflective practices to consistently enhance children’s learning environments.”
	Nur Sulastri Binte Mohamad Riway Surya Putera  Pursuing Master of Early Childhood Education (Part-time) at SUSS Principal at PCF Sparkletots Preschool @Tampines West “I believe that through the spirit of lifelong learning, we as educators can constantly uplift ourselves professionally. I hope to also design training frameworks with differentiated adult learning approaches.”
	Nasreen Binte Naser  Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Minor (Part-time) at SUSS Centre Head at MOE Kindergarten @ Bendemeer “In hopes of becoming a better educator and leader, I will share my knowledge and expertise with my fellow educators and continuously widen my perspectives and hone my skills as an early childhood practitioner.”
	Nurlisha D/O Muhammed Ali  Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Minor (Part-time) at SUSS Vice Principal at PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Punggol Shore (EY) “As curriculum frameworks are key to scaffolding children’s holistic development, I aspire to guide educators in moulding and engaging young minds of varying learning needs and interests.”
	Samantha Ann Vaylantham  Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Minor (Part-time) at SUSS English Teacher at MindChamps PreSchool @ Boon Keng Private Limited “There are always ways to improve our craft of teaching and being open to learning can equip ourselves with deeper knowledge and effective skillsets as early childhood practitioners.”
	Samantha Ho Jia Wen  Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Minor (Part-time) at SUSS English Teacher at Agape Little Uni. @ Upper Serangoon “I strongly believe in child-directed learning, where early childhood educators are facilitators  who create meaningful learning opportunities and accommodate to differing developmental  needs and styles for children in their formative years.”
	Amanda Tan Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with Minor (Part-time) at SUSS Senior Teacher at Shaws CDLC @ Mountbatten Pte Ltd   “My aspirations are to deepen my knowledge in curriculum planning and build connections with my fellow educators to work collaboratively and optimise children’s learning and development.”
	Wang Xiaoyan  Pursuing Bachelor of Early Childhood and Chinese Language Education (Part-time) at SUSS Senior Chinese Teacher at Between Two Trees Preschool “I desire to be a reflective and empathetic educator, who keeps abreast of EC advancements and caters to diverse learning needs of children, especially those with special needs.”

	Charlene Tan Shi Ying  Graduated with Diploma in Early Childhood Development & Education from NIEC (Ngee Ann Polytechnic)  Teacher at Skool4Kidz @ SBSB “I aspire to promote inclusivity in my classrooms with learning spaces for diverse needs and interests, as well as ensure sufficient training opportunities for EC professionals.”
	Charmaine Grace Ang  Graduated with Diploma in Chinese Studies (Early Childhood Teaching) (Ngee Ann Polytechnic)  Teacher at MOE Kindergarten @ Sengkang Green “I aim to be a reflective educator and balance effectively between teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, while uplifting my skills in Mandarin Language Teaching.”
