How do superheroes fly? That was not what the league of superheroes wanted to learn when they gathered at The TreeTop @ *SCAPE on 11 March 2016. Instead, they wanted to network with fellow superheroes and learn practical tips on changing the world for children.
Yes, you guessed it. The theme of the inaugural ECDA Training Award (TA) Tea Session was 'Superheroes'.
As our TA graduants embark on their journey to give every child a good start, they were reminded that they are the children's superheroes and together they can make a difference in the lives of these children.
Besides the new appointed superheroes, past superheroes also joined in the tea session. Ms Trenna Liong, graduant of 2015, and Ms Dianne Seet-Swee, ECDA Fellow, provided valuable handles to the aspiring early childhood educators. They shared their experiences on coping in the initial days of work as an educator, engaging parents effectively, and having a balanced life.
They also got to know fellow graduants through ice-breaking games, took group pictures at the photo booth and penned their reflections on the 'My Superhero Thots' wall.
Every graduant went home with a new found friendship, practical tips, valuable memories and a special edition tote bag designed by our very own TA graduant, Queenie Tan.
Many of the graduants and their lecturers provided encouraging feedback that the tea session was meaningful and looked forward to more of such events. Our next tea session will be held in November 2016. Look out for more updates!
