    Protecting Our Children from Covid-19 with Vaccination for 5 to 11-Year-Olds


    The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) will be working with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to extend the national vaccination programme to cover over 300,000 children aged 5 to 11, starting with the older children from 27 December 2021. The programme will be open to all children who are Singapore Citizens (SC), Permanent Residents (PR) and long-term pass holders (LTPH). Booking for vaccination appointments will start on 22 December 2021.

    Expansion of ECDA Award to Recognise Inclusion and Innovation


    Twenty-three Early Childhood (EC) and Early Intervention (EI) professionals as well as centres were honoured at the 9th ECDA Awards for Excellence in Early Childhood Development, held virtually on 27 November 2021. Since 2013, this annual ceremony has been celebrating the accomplishments of EC educators and centres that have excelled in teaching and learning, and innovative practices.     New Initiatives to Support Children and Early Childhood Sector


    Minister for Social and Family Development Mr Masagos Zulkifli announced new initiatives to support early childhood (EC) educators, preschool operators and children at the Early Childhood Conference today.     The Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) has announced safe management measures (SMMs) from 27 September 2021 through 24 October 2021 to slow down community transmissions and allow time for Singapore’s overall healthcare and response capacity to be appropriately augmented.     Since the start of our fight against COVID-19, the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) has put in place several measures to keep our preschool community safe. As the COVID-19 situation remains dynamic and we transit towards a COVID-19 resilient nation, we will continue to review and refine our measures in preschools to safeguard our preschool children, who cannot be vaccinated yet.
